These answers describe the Trident Motorcycle as of the revision date shown at the bottom of this page. The Trident is a product in development. It is not commercially available and cannot be ordered or purchased at this time.

Is the Trident currently available to purchase?

No. The Trident is not available to purchase, and no orders, deposits or reservations are being accepted. Trident Motorcycles is working toward being able to accept orders; the current internal planning target is approximately 14 months from the revision date of this page. That is a target only and may change.

When will the vehicle be available?

The current planning target is approximately 14 months from the revision date of this page. This is a planning target, not a commitment and not a delivery date. It is subject to change as design, testing and manufacturing planning progress.

Can I sign up to be notified about progress?

Yes. You can join a notification list and receive updates on development status and on when production begins.

Your contact information will be used only to communicate with you about the Trident motorcycle. It will not be sold, rented or shared, and it will not be used for any other product or purpose. You may ask to be removed from the list at any time.

What is the difference between Model CE and Model A?

There are three configurations defined at this time.

Model CE — the electric configuration, with wheelchair access at the rear of the vehicle.
Model A — the internal combustion configuration, with a bucket seat and without the swing-away rear axle.
Third configuration, unnamed at this time — an internal combustion vehicle with the swing-away axle, for access by a rider who uses a wheelchair.

How will the vehicle be fitted to the individual rider?

The intended process begins with a list of the rider’s needs, established in writing and through photographs. Software currently in development is intended to record the rider’s size, the physical support they may require, and the wheelchair they use, along with their preferences.

Not all wheelchair users use powered wheelchairs; some use manually propelled chairs. These differences matter, because they determine how the chair is fixtured to the chassis. Where an automatic transmission is required for the rider’s comfort, it is specified at this stage.

The process is comparable to being measured for a tailored garment. It is defined in design documents and has not yet been carried out for a delivered vehicle.

Where will the vehicle be manufactured?

The current plan is to manufacture the first run of Trident motorcycles in the Columbus, Ohio area. This is a plan, not a commitment, and it may change. No manufacturing facility or production line is in operation for this product.

How will the vehicle be serviced?

Honda drive components were selected for the design because of their durability and the breadth of dealer support. The intent is that a Honda dealership or service group able to work on those components could service the vehicle.

The plan is for each Trident to be supplied with technical repair and service documentation, and for service to also be available at the Trident facility. No service network exists yet.

What is the manufacturing and environmental approach?

The design applies earth stewardship principles, including reuse of components where practical. Both internal combustion and electric configurations are defined, and multi-fuel operation — gasoline, CNG or hydrogen — is part of the design work.

The electric configuration is in design development, and fuel cell technology is being evaluated as a way to extend range. It has not been implemented. Reducing waste and improving recycling in future manufacturing is a stated design objective, not a completed result.

Do you have questions about financing or investment?
